Pilates for all stages of your pregnancy journey.

Starting Pilates before, during, and after pregnancy.

If you are pre or post-natal and wish to commence Pilates, it is mandatory that you attend a private Pilates initial consult first.  This pre-requisite applies to first-time Pilates students and experienced movers.

We require an initial consult Pilates assessment for you and your bub's safety.  Every body and every pregnancy is different and this consult allows us to determine what type of Pilates is appropriate for your body: group classes, privates, or semi-privates.  If you have not had a consult, our group class instructors reserve the right to refuse entry into a group class.

Many factors go into assessing what is best, and it will change over the course of your pregnancy. For example, group classes may be suitable during the first trimester, but they may not be in the second or third.  We try to avoid hard and fast rules about what you can and cannot do, but as you know (or will know), every pregnancy is different

Group classes specific to Pregnancy Pilates.

In addition to our existing schedule, we run regular pregnancy Pilates "terms" where there will be more pregnancy Pilates group classes on the schedule.  These pregnancy-specific group Pilates classes will be suitable for most pregnancies.

Due to the natural timeline of pregnancy, these pregnancy-specific “terms” are not running at all times. We are a small studio, so we do need minimum numbers in order to run classes.

At Rig, we know Pregnancy is a magical, difficult, fun, and exhausting experience. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy journey, we are here to help.

“I really enjoyed all my pregnancy Pilates classes and sessions. Being pregnant with my second child + having a toddler at home meant I was often tired and exercise was low on the priority list! But the lovely and helpful Pilates instructors at Rig were always amazing. Their knowledge, the pace of classes, and the modifications always ensured I left feeling better and ready for what comes next! Thanks team! 😍

The benefits of pregnancy Pilates.

Rig was founded by owner Sayshie when she was pregnant with her daughter Blair. Pilates was an essential wellness tool during Sayshie's pregnancy and post-birth recovery, and that experience formed the genesis of our strong belief that Pilates is a vital tool for women throughout all stages of their pregnancy.

Besides creating a time and space for you to be present in your own body, ante and postnatal Pilates can help with pain management, postural imbalances, mobility, and the all-important pelvic floor muscles.
